CCS, corporate procurement, and the draft Energy Attribute Certificate methodology
Description

The IPCC acknowledges the necessary role that carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) technologies will play in a net-zero future, but for many, the technology remains misunderstood, controversial, or just unclear.

What really is “carbon capture”? How does capture work in practice and how proven is the technology? How is CO2 stored and how do we know it’s safe and permanent? What is enhanced oil recovery and what does it mean for emissions? And why does CCS matter for clean energy buyers and what’s its role catalyzing a decarbonized power system?

In this session, we’ll answer these questions directly and invite your questions, critiques, curiosities, and recommendations. The goal of this session is to build understanding of CCS and to inform how we can best execute CCS projects, set up reliable standards, and support company clean energy goals.
