CEBA and Japan Climate Initiative (JCI) will co-host a private roundtable designed to foster candid, cross-regional dialogue on corporate clean energy leadership. This closed-door session will convene voices from leading corporations and financial institutions in both the United States and Japan to explore the role of the private sector in accelerating the clean energy transition.
Amid shifting political and economic landscapes, participants will exchange insights on advancing clean energy procurement, overcoming policy barriers, and strengthening international collaboration. The roundtable aims to deepen mutual understanding, spark new partnerships, and reinforce commitment to bold, business-driven clean energy procurement.

Japan’s green transformation (GX) is at a pivotal moment. As the country advances toward its 2050 net-zero emissions target, increasing corporate demand for clean energy presents both a challenge and an opportunity to catalyze market reform, investment, and deployment. This will require deeper multi-stakeholder engagement—particularly with the private sector, which plays a critical role in driving clean energy adoption and sending long-term market signals.
This invite-only roundtable—hosted by CEBA—will include a discussion with Yuki Shimazu, Special Advisor to Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and Director of Industrial Research at the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). Mr. Shimazu will provide insights into Japan’s evolving clean energy policy and market landscape, setting the stage for a focused dialogue with corporate clean energy buyers on current policy developments, remaining barriers, and potential solutions for unlocking greater investment, market transparency, and clean energy access across Japan.
