This growth is being driven by the industries and areas of economic expansion of the future: electrification and reshoring/onshoring of manufacturing, growth in data centers and automotive, and battery and solar manufacturing. Innovative solutions to meet this growth with clean firm energy are emerging. Invite-only roundtable discussion between the U.S. Department of State Assistant Secretary Geoffrey Pyatt, Deputy Assistant Secretary Anna Shpitsberg, and corporate clean energy leaders on advancing clean energy access in Indonesia and Vietnam. Attendees will discuss implementation of Vietnam’s direct power purchase agreement and potential for launching a CEDI dialogue with the Government of Indonesia.

Thursday, September 26
The U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Energy Resources, in collaboration with CEBA and the Center for Strategic and International Studies, is organizing a Clean Energy Demand Initiative (CEDI) event with senior policymakers from the Indian states of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, and Tamil Nadu, which together account for over 50% of India's gross domestic product (GDP) and nearly half of the country’s greenhouse gas emissions.
The event will include a series of roundtable discussions that will also feature the chairperson of the Solar Energy Corporation of India, the Indian government entity responsible for procurement of renewable energy and related clean energy technologies. The Indian State officials in attendance will include industry secretaries responsible for developing and implementing industrial policies that include regulations on procurement processes.
