Michelle Patron is General Manager of Energy and Sustainability Policy at Microsoft. In this role, she leads key regulatory and policy engagements and initiatives in support of Microsoft’s ambitious sustainability and energy goals. Prior to joining Microsoft, Patron served from 2013 to 2015 as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Energy and Climate Director at the National Security Council She has also worked at the private energy research firm PIRA Energy Group, the US Energy Department, Deutsche Bank, the International Energy Agency, and Center for International Environmental Law; served as energy attache´ at the US embassy in Beijing; and taught at New York University. Patron is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and has written for Foreign Affairs, Financial Times, and the Los Angeles Times. She has a BA from Columbia College and an MA from Johns Hopkins University.
