Naoki Murakata is the Head of the Energy Management Unit within the Energy Transformation Group at Sumitomo Corporation, where he oversees power retail, trading, balancing, and generation activities in the Japanese market. With more than two decades of experience in global energy and infrastructure development, he has held leadership roles across renewable and gas IPP, and social infrastructure businesses in regions including Europe, the United States, Africa, and Asia.

His previous positions include Deputy GM for social infrastructure development, Head of Global Renewable IPP teams, Director roles in the United States overseeing wind and solar energy operations and SVP of Perennial Power Holdings, wholly owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation.
