Mr. Yuki Shimazu is the Special Advisor for Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and Director of Industrial Research at JETRO New York. Based in New York, he advises the Ministry on energy and climate policy. His past roles include shaping Japan’s renewable and nuclear energy policy, promoting foreign direct investment, and most recently boosting private sector's human capital investment. He joined METI in 2004 after receiving a master’s degree of engineering from the University of Tokyo. He holds an MBA degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management.
