Is Corporate Offtake Under Attack? Protecting the Engine of Renewable Energy Growth
Description
Corporate procurement has played a critical role in the deployment of renewable projects across the world - but its contributions to the energy transition are being questioned. A number of recent studies and articles challenge the impact of these corporate actions. This discourse risks disincentivizing and discrediting critical corporate procurement exactly when it is needed most.
This discussion session will review empirical evidence about the role of corporate offtake in getting projects financed and built. Participants will leave with a stronger understanding of how to advocate for the importance of corporate offtake, both within their organizations and externally.
