As a part of the SEC’s proposed rules, public companies need to disclose not only their current emissions but also their plans to mitigate these emissions. While most of the efforts are focused on accounting and reporting of Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, planning for mitigation strategies has been ad hoc. This conversation will focus on the challenges of planning for Scope 2 mitigation strategies and propose a scenario-based simulation approach to plan Scope 2 mitigation strategies and roadmap.
