Kurt retired from Entergy in December 2022 concluding a career that spanned almost 40 years. He now serves as an independent energy consultant providing testimony and expertise on utility resource planning practices, renewable generation and strategies for meeting customer sustainability objectives including green tariffs. Over the past several decades, he has developed a robust familiarity with the electric utility industry, become knowledgeable about national and regional trends, and gained a unique understanding of customer requirements including the objectives many of them have to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
During his time at Entergy, he held a variety of positions in customer service, major account management, substation management, distribution and transmission performance management, wholesale power marketing and resource planning. He concluded his career at Entergy as the Director, Resource Planning and Market Operations, Kurt was responsible for the management and administration of all resource planning activities. His duties involve conducting planning activities to identify all available supply-side and demand-side resource options, performing analyses to assess these resource options, and ultimately developing and implementing an integrated resource plan for meeting the load and energy requirements of retail customers.
He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in General Engineering from Arkansas Tech University and a Masters Degree in International Business from Webster University. Kurt has also completed additional studies at Columbia University Business School, the University of Michigan Business School, the Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania) and the Southeastern Electric Exchange Middle Management School.
Kurt and his wife, Donna, reside in Little Rock; have two daughters, one who is a doctor of pharmacy and works at St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock; one is an attorney employed by the Skadden Law Firm in Atlanta, and a son who works in information technology for Entergy Services in Little Rock. They also are proud grandparents to three granddaughters and a grandson.
