Charles obtained a BS in Mechanical Engineering at Missouri S&T in 2007. While attending S&T, Charles was actively involved in multiple organizations around campus, holding multiple leadership positions within these organizations. The technical and organizational skills Charles honed while at S&T have been instrumental in his impressive early career.
Immediately upon graduation Charles moved to Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) to begin his professional career. Charles began in the UAE as a Mechanical Engineer for Stantec and worked on various projects including managing engineering and energy calculations for a 750 bed, 4,500 room hospital. While working on this project, Charles also used digital twin BIM and energy modeling technology to calculate and quantify water, energy and cost savings and a condensate recovery system. This focus on technology, energy efficiency, energy and cost savings has proven to be his personal passion and starting point for his entrepreneurial pursuits.
After multiple years managing and completing Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing design, Charles began as a digitization manager and co-founder at iTech Technology. Charles was instrumental in the development and planning of company strategy in this early startups growth stages as well as overseeing all aspects of the engineering department and supporting the marketing and business development department.
This early work at a high growth start-up gave Charles the confidence to start his next venture, Taka Solutions in 2013. Charles started the company with the mission to reduce the world’s energy consumption by 20% through fully financed, paid-from-savings energy performance projects for buildings. The turnkey solution uses technology, finance and engineering by applying IoT, energy modeling and digital twins to predict, save and manage energy in the buildings and assets over a long duration During his time as the Founder and CEO Charles has structured and raised over 40 million dollars in an investment and technology fund to finance projects so customers do not have to invest themselves to transform their assets into smart, high efficiency,low carbon buildings. By employing innovative financing shared savings contracts, Taka Solutions reaches buildings, companies and people who otherwise would not reduce their consumption.
Charles led the company as the founder and CEO from a management, strategy, financing, human resources, and business development aspect as well as technical engineering including building analysis, design, construction and operations. He designed and oversaw the development of the companies technology to automate and digitize the company, projects and use the IoT data. He has spoke at over 50 conferences worldwide and has materialized partnerships with key players such as Microsoft and with Corys Environmental Investments and CreekCapital, the regional premier energy investment firm.
Charles has been recognized with multiple awards and various press publications. They include the United Nations Environment Program- Financing Energy Efficiency, United Nations Presenter on Entrepreneurship for the Sustainable Development goals, International Finance Corporation (IFC) Entrepreneur, and Autodesk University Key Presenter.
In 2016 Taka Solutions and Charles won The Venture Social Impact competition for the region. During this process he was involved in the global competition along with 25 of the highest impact companies around the world. He represented the company, region and industry at Oxford University in the UK, and at the finals in New York city.

Shortly after in 2019 Charles became an Endeavour entrepreneur from the local selection panel in Dubai. He represented the company in the international event in Madrid in 2019.
In 2021 after 13 years abroad as an expat, Charles moved with his wife and two daughters to Dallas, Texas to be closer to family and help the US lead in the cleantech transition. Charles remains in a board director and advisor with Taka Solutions and works as an Enterprise Sales Executive for Verdigris Technologies- a energy intelligence company working to reduce overall energy consumption through technology. Charles’ work with Verdigris will further his goal of reducing the world energy consumption using technology.
Throughout his young career, Charles has shown a very high level of achievement, demonstrated leadership ability in all of his roles, and a deep, lasting commitment to reducing the energy consumption around the world. This has been performance based, and with an ambitious entrepreneurial spirit.
