Kate Wendt is Vice President of Strategy, Transformation, and Sustainability at REI, a specialty outdoor retailer and the nation’s largest consumer co-op with over 22 million lifetime members. At REI, Kate develops the company’s long-term vision and growth strategy, oversees the execution of its transformation plan, and is the executive accountable for climate & sustainability.

Her scope of responsibility includes innovating on the company's business model and customer experience, developing bold actions to meet its ambitious climate goals and embed impact in enterprise strategy and plans, and drive strategic planning and capital allocation to deliver on its goals. Kate sets and drives the organization to achieve its quadruple bottom line measures of success across employees, members, business, and society. Kate joined REI in 2014 and has also served as interim CFO of the company.

Prior to REI, Wendt was one of the youngest female Senior Equity Research Analysts on Wall Street covering the healthy lifestyles, grocery and retail sectors. She also worked in investor relations at ICR, Inc. Kate graduated from Stanford University. She also sits on the board of the Washington Farmland Trust.
