As Microsoft data centers transition to carbon free generation 100% of the time and eliminate their use of diesel fuel for backup generation by 2030, ensuring energy reliability and resilience—necessary ingredients for the cloud services that support our health care, first responders, and government customers, among others—becomes increasingly important. And increasingly complex. I work with Program Managers across the Energy & Sustainability Team to navigate this unchartered territory.

Before joining Microsoft, I advised multiple Department of Defense (DoD) Secretaries of Defense as a senior policy advisor in the Office of the Secretary of Defense / Policy (2011-2021) and I was an analyst at the Government Accountability Office (GAO), the Congressional agency tasked with assessing and recommending how the Federal government could be more effective (2008-2011). I earned a Masters Degree in Economics and International Studies at Johns Hopkins SAIS (2008) and a Bachelors Degree in American Studies at Amherst College (2003).
